The United Kingdom is set to progress with using the entire amount of seized Russian holdings to bolster the Ukrainian military campaign, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the UK, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this unified step would escalate tension on Russian President Vladimir Putin and persuade the Russian Federation to engage in negotiations.

They added that the move would be executed in tight collaboration with the America.

United Kingdom sanctions have frozen over £25bn of Russian funds since the Russian government began its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, until now, funds sent to the Ukrainian government using Russian funds had exclusively been sourced from profits and interest earned on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to advance efforts toward utilizing the total worth of the immobilized Russia's state funds to halt hostilities.

He noted that more sanctions in the coming days and weeks would increase the strain on Russia.

This announcement comes after EU representatives gathered in the Danish capital recently to debate using immobilized Russia's assets for a 140-billion-euro loan to Ukraine.

Recently, US President Donald Trump called on Group of Seven partners to confiscate or utilize frozen Russian funds, according to news outlets.

The worth of frozen Russian holdings in the EU is assessed to be nearly €211bn.

Leader Zelensky encourages the United Kingdom's Sir Keir Starmer to join the PURL program

The Russian government executed widespread bombardments across the Ukrainian territory on that day, causing electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the city, and eight other regions.

In the same period, Zelensky told the press he would urge Sir Keir to join the PURL scheme, under which Nato countries buy arms from the America to donate to Ukraine.

While praising the United Kingdom's strong support for Kyiv, he remarked it should demonstrate clearly that it would participate in the program, as well as enforce further restrictions on the Russian Federation.
