President Donald Trump revealed on the weekend that he has asked the relatives of a National Guard member killed last week to attend the presidential home.

He noted that he contacted her family and they were “devastated”.

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a violent incident on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in grave state.

Memorials across the state have taken place in their honor.

The commander-in-chief stated he’s discussed a White House visit for the loved ones of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” Trump informed the press. “And similarly with him, recover or not.”

Community members came together over the weekend at a local school in the state to remember Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s government program to aid law enforcement in the capital.

Honoring Beckstrom

“Sarah was the individual that teachers wished for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that inspired those around her,” the principal, the principal of her former high school, told the Associated Press. “She was sweet, compassionate and always eager to support those in need.”

Memorial arrangements for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Legal Measures and Government Adjustments

Authorities have charged a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with one count of murder and charges of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The incident prompted the administration to pause asylum processing and temporarily stop granting entry permits to holders of Afghan passports.

Condition of the Airman

Andrew Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, began his service in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the news agency.

He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on television.

Legacy of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a military police officer with honor, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of goodness and she certainly had courage,” he told the audience at the service. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
