Salah Offers Statement to Teammates, Reveals Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Salah apologised to the team after the controversy from his public comments.
The Incident
He was omitted from a key Champions League match after making accusations and suggesting his relationship with manager had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
The manager has previously declined to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the player.
Team Unity
The player stated that the team's response remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
He also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “I understand there are specific approaches you can go about things,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just be on the bench, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
On-Field Response
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the situation. Jones believes the outburst were never meant to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and on a positive run.”
