Beloved Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
US actor Finn, who featured in iconic TV shows including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA this Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, according to reports.
"He considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his family said in a announcement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, including:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, peer actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared on social media.
The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
